Would you prefer to spend much buying 3d blue ray disc ? Even today there are very less 3D content available. The viewing angle makes it really hard to watch if more than two person are watching together. 3D glasses cost a lot. And the worse thing is that one man would be watching tv in 3d while the others won't be able to watch TV even if they wanted to watch in non 3d.

I've seen various 3D permutations come and go several times since I saw the first black and white (or red and green) 3D movie in the 1950s. That early technique didn't last long at all--just a few films--and everything that's come down since has had a similar fate.
3D in the cinema can be awesome, but it's a different experience with a TV set. The technology involved is complex and imperfect, and there isn't all that much *real* 3D program material to watch. Worse, the so-called 2D to 3D converters in some sets don't do what they're advertised to do, and there's no way they can.
If you need another reason, something like 10% of the population--probably more than that--cannot experience 3D because they don't have perfectly balanced vision in both eyes. Some people don't even know they have a dominant eye problem until they look at 3D and wonder "what's the big deal?"
All that tells me that the extra money spent for 3D should better be spent on the best features of a high-end conventional LCD/LED set--in 2D.

1. Examine the HDMI connectors on your TV. One of them should have a pair of red/white RCA jacks immediately adjacent to it. Those are there for situations like this.
2. Get a 3.5 mm headphone jack adapter similar to the ref below. Insert the 3.5 mm plug into your computer’s headphone jack.
3. Using a pair of RCA cables, Connect the RCA jacks on the adapter to the RCA jacks next to the above HDMI input on your TV.
4. [Edit] Connect the video path as you suggest in your question.
5. Select that HDMI input on your TV with its remote.

yes. but i wouldnt recomend LG. i have found that its not a very good gaming experience. that and the fact that there just arent that many 3D games out there yet. take a look at the Sony BRAVIA KDL46EX720.

Use an audio cable, such as that with RCA-phono connectors on each end. Or a mini-phone plug on the computer end and two RCA-phono plugs on the other (for the TV).

Why would you spend so much money on a 3D TV when it barely even works. You have to buy several 3d glasses for everyone who wants to watch the movie. Plus I can guarantee that you won't even use the 3D option not even 10 times. Tell your parents to go with a regular TV. Preferably, I would go with a Samsung LED 55"
